Kees was born in 1946 in Vlaardingen, the Netherlands. In 1970, he received his Masters degree in chemical engineering from the Technical University in Delft, the Netherlands. He held several senior positions in the oil and chemical industry, prior to starting a petrochemicals trading company in 1982. In 1994 he started his own venture capital firm Kegado, which creates transformative business initiatives in the context of climate change mitigation, the evolving global energy transition, ecosystem restoration, promoting human health and catalysing humanity’s re-connection with nature and the Self. Kees is co-founder of Face the Future, a company which restores ecosystems all around the world (http://facethefuture.com/),  co-founder and chairman of the Vital4Life Foundation (http://vital4lifefoundation.com/) which performs research and co-creates new energy technologies and co-founder and chairman of the Unifying Fields Foundation, (https://unifyingfields.org/ ) which aims to restore the connection between man and Nature through the co-creation of food-forests and creating awareness of the health benefits of a plant based diet.
